About Devon campervans

Founded in 1980, Devon Conversions has established itself as one of the UK’s longest-standing independent van conversion specialists. Originally based in Sidmouth, Devon—which gave the company its name—the business later relocated to a modern 14,000-square-foot factory in Ferryhill, County Durham. This move allowed the manufacturer to increase production capacity while maintaining the hand-finished quality that defines the brand. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Devon built a reputation for innovation in space-saving layouts, becoming particularly noted for their use of the high-roof panel van. Key milestones include the development of the 'monocoque' style interiors and the long-term success of the Aztec model, which has remained a core part of their catalogue for decades. Now under the ownership of the Minns family, Devon continues to operate as a family-run business, focusing on direct-to-customer service and bespoke-quality builds. Despite changes in the wider automotive industry, the company remains dedicated to the traditional van conversion market, avoiding the mass-production techniques of larger coachbuilders in favour of attention to detail and durable materials. Today, Devon remains an influential name in the British leisure vehicle industry, respected for its consistency and engineering integrity.
