Common questions

What are Gobur caravans?

Gobur is a UK manufacturer specialising in folding caravans. Based in Norfolk, the company is known for the Carousel range, which features a solid wall design that folds down for easier towing and storage while providing the insulation of a traditional caravan when upright.

What is a Gobur Carousel?

The Gobur Carousel is the primary model range from this manufacturer. It is a slimline folding caravan that comes in various lengths and layouts. Because these units fold down, they often fit into standard garages and create less wind resistance during transit compared to full height models.

Where are Gobur caravans made?

Gobur caravans are manufactured at their facility in Melton Constable, Norfolk. The company has produced these specific folding designs in the UK for several decades, focusing on a niche market for compact, towable leisure vehicles with rigid sides.

What should I look for when buying a Gobur caravan for sale?

Buying a used Gobur folding caravan requires checking the internal hinge mechanisms and the condition of the seals that keep the unit watertight when folded. Buyers should also inspect the chassis and braking system, as these units are often kept for long periods by their owners.
