About Hobby motorhomes

Founded in 1967 by Harald Striewski in Fockbek, Germany, Hobby began its journey with a vision to make mobile holidays more accessible and comfortable. The company quickly rose to prominence, becoming a significant force in the European leisure vehicle market. In 1969, just two years after its inception, Hobby introduced the innovative automatic reversing mechanism, a testament to its early focus on technical advancement. In 1984, the brand expanded its portfolio by launching its first motorhome series, the 600 range, which earned acclaim for its distinctive design and aerodynamic profile. Following the reunification of Germany, Hobby continued to modernise its production processes, incorporating CAD technology and automated assembly lines to maintain high construction standards. Today, Hobby remains an independent, family-owned enterprise. It operates one of the most significant manufacturing sites in the industry, employing over 1,200 people. The brand’s enduring success is built on the 'HobbyKomplett' package, ensuring vehicles leave the factory ready for the road with extensive glass-fibre reinforced (GRP) protection and integrated tech solutions.
