About Malibu motorhomes

The Malibu nameplate is inextricably linked to the origins of the Carthago Group. Founded by Karl-Heinz Schuler in 1979, Malibu was the brand that initiated the company's entry into the leisure vehicle market. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the brand built a solid reputation for innovative van conversions, establishing itself as a significant force in the compact camper sector. As the parent company shifted its focus toward the luxury coachbuilt and A-class markets under the Carthago name, the Malibu brand was briefly retired. Today, Malibu operates from advanced production facilities in Aulendorf, Germany, and Odranci, Slovenia. The brand benefits from decades of engineering expertise, utilising wood-free body construction and double-connection furniture technology. Now a staple in many UK dealerships, Malibu continues to expand its catalogue, currently offering 11 models designed to bridge the gap between standard van conversions and premium coachbuilt motorhomes.
