PLA was founded in 2010 by Pier Luigi Alinari, a veteran of the Italian recreational-vehicle sector. In 2014, PLA acquired the brand Giottiline. Two years later, in 2016, PLA itself was acquired by the French Rapido Group; by 2019 Rapido had obtained complete control. Under Rapido, PLA has invested in expanding its plant, streamlining model ranges, increasing production and leveraging shared technical expertise.
