    Quick answer

The RoamWorthy Motorhome Market Index is our recurring first-party view of the stock UK buyers can actually browse on RoamWorthy. The September 2026 snapshot contains 885 publication-quality motorhome listings after our editorial data-quality rules are applied. Across that cohort, the median advertised asking price is £71,995.

New versus used motorhome asking prices

CohortListingsMedian asking priceMiddle 50% price rangeMedian model year
    Used514£61,995£47,999–£77,9952022
    New371£79,285£70,144–£90,2652026
    All publication-quality stock885£71,995£57,995–£84,4302024

The most useful number here is not the highest advertised price. It is the spread. Half of the used motorhomes in this editorial cohort sit between roughly £48,000 and £78,000. That gives buyers a much better sense of where the centre of RoamWorthy’s current used inventory sits than a handful of premium or entry-level examples would.

For new stock, the middle half lies between roughly £70,000 and £90,000. The overlap between late used vehicles and new stock is therefore important for buyers comparing age, specification, dealer offering and immediate availability. RoamWorthy does not treat the gap between those advertised prices as depreciation: asking prices are not completed transactions and individual specification can differ materially.

Where the stock sits by price band

The full live motorhome estate is concentrated above £50,000. In the broader 931-listing live inventory before the stricter editorial cohort is applied, 365 listings sit between £60,000 and £80,000 and 287 are advertised above £80,000. Lower-priced stock exists, but it is a much smaller part of the current estate.

    £60,000–£79,9993652026
    £80,000+2872026

The band table deliberately uses the wider live inventory as a discovery view, while the headline medians use our stricter editorial cohort. That distinction matters: the editorial cohort is designed for claims, while the broader live estate is useful for understanding what buyers may encounter while browsing. We exclude obvious evidence problems before using individual listings as examples in editorial.

The makes with the largest live presence

Swift currently has the largest motorhome listing presence on RoamWorthy with 170 live vehicles, followed by Elddis with 136 and Auto-Trail with 120. Bailey has 58, Benimar 53, Rapido 52 and Auto-Sleepers 46.

This is a count of RoamWorthy dealer inventory, not UK manufacturer market share. It tells a buyer where the choice is deepest inside this marketplace today. It does not tell us how many vehicles each manufacturer sells nationally.

What buyers can use this index for

The index is most useful as a starting benchmark. If your budget is around £40,000, you can see immediately that you are shopping below the centre of the present used-stock distribution. At £60,000, you are close to the current used median. At £80,000, the comparison increasingly crosses into new and nearly-new stock.

From there, the useful next step is not to chase an average vehicle. It is to compare the actual stock available for your budget and then narrow by layout, berth requirement, age, dealer location and the features you can verify on the individual vehicle.

    Methodology

The index is based on RoamWorthy marketplace records captured on 1 September 2026. For the headline editorial cohort, a listing must be published, available, priced, analytics-eligible and attached to a canonical motorhome model. Rows already flagged as suspicious prices are excluded, as are deleted or unavailable listings and models that have been merged into another canonical identity.

We report median asking prices because a median is less distorted by a small number of very expensive vehicles than a simple average. The “middle 50%” runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile. Model year is also reported as a median.

Important: this is not an official UK registration or sales dataset. RoamWorthy inventory reflects the dealers and feeds represented on the marketplace. Asking prices are not necessarily completed sale prices. We therefore use the index to describe RoamWorthy marketplace supply and buyer choice, not to claim national sales volumes, depreciation or realised values.

Why the index will become more useful over time

From 1 September 2026, RoamWorthy records a governed daily market snapshot at both vertical and canonical-model level. That means future updates can compare like-for-like stock counts and asking-price distributions rather than relying on memory or recreated historical queries.

As that history builds, the index will be able to show changes such as whether stock is expanding or contracting, which model families are becoming harder to find and how advertised price distributions move over time. Those future movements will always be tied to the dated RoamWorthy snapshot that produced them.
