Twin axle caravans offer better high-speed stability, more interior space, higher payload capacity, and often wider bodies. They feel more planted on motorways and in crosswinds.

They require a more capable tow vehicle (typically 2000kg+ towing capacity) and are harder to reverse and manoeuvre on tight pitches. However, many owners find them easier at speed due to improved stability.

You typically need an SUV, 4x4, or large estate with at least 2000kg towing capacity. Popular choices include Land Rover Discovery, Kia Sorento, and Skoda Kodiaq.
