About Frankia motorhomes

Frankia was established in 1960 by Gustav Gross in Marktschorgast, Germany. Over more than six decades, the company has grown from a local manufacturer into a significant name within the European luxury motorhome sector. A major turning point occurred in 1990 when Frankia was acquired by the French Pilaote Group. This transition provided the investment and international distribution network necessary to expand the brand's presence across the UK and the continent. The manufacturer is recognised for several key technical milestones that have influenced industry standards. In 1995, Frankia became one of the first brands to implement a continuous double-floor concept across its entire vehicle range, a design choice that greatly enhanced winterisation and storage capabilities. Furthermore, the introduction of the Frankia Central Supply System simplified utility management for owners by consolidating service points. Today, as the premium German subsidiary of the Pilote Group, Frankia continues to specialise in high-payload vehicles and customisable luxury layouts. Recent developments have seen a deepened partnership with Mercedes-Benz, ensuring their latest A-class and coachbuilt models deliver contemporary performance, safety, and driver comfort for the high-end touring market.
