End Washroom: What it means and why it matters

An end washroom is a full-width bathroom at the rear of a caravan or motorhome, offering the most spacious shower and toilet arrangement available in a leisure vehicle.

End washrooms occupy the full width of the vehicle at one end (usually the rear), providing a domestic-scale bathroom with a separate shower cubicle, toilet, basin, and often useful storage. They offer the most space of any bathroom layout and feel the least like a caravan. The trade-off is that the bedroom must be positioned mid-vehicle, which can reduce bedroom size or require a longer overall vehicle length.

    Why this matters

If bathroom comfort is a priority, an end washroom is the gold standard. Particularly valued by touring couples who use sites without shower blocks.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Usually yes. Expect the caravan to be 30-60cm longer than a similar model with a mid-washroom. This adds weight too, so check towing limits.
