Island Bed: What it means and why it matters
An island bed is a fixed double bed with walk-around access on both sides, like a bed at home. It is the most popular premium layout in modern caravans.
Island beds sit centrally in the bedroom area with space to walk around both sides. This makes getting in and out easy for both sleepers. Particularly valuable for nighttime bathroom trips. Island beds require a wider caravan body (typically 2.3m+ internal width) and are most common in caravans 6m+ long. They are often paired with an end washroom for a hotel-like bedroom/bathroom suite.
Why this matters
The most comfortable fixed bed option for couples. No climbing over each other. The premium layout for good reason.
